Porzio Diversity Scholarship Application
The recipient will receive a one-year $5000 scholarship. Eligible applicants must: 1) be a student in her/his first year of law school in Fall 2011; 2) have achieved a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.3 at her/his undergraduate institution; 3) be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America and a New Jersey resident; and 4) not be the recipient of a similar scholarship award from another law firm. Students who are members of groups traditionally underrepresented in law schools and law firms are encouraged to apply.
In addition to submitting a completed scholarship application, candidates must also submit an undergraduate transcript, a law school transcript, a current resume, and a typed essay of 750 words or less. The essay should outline the candidate’s plans and goals upon graduation from law school and illustrate how this scholarship will assist in furthering those goals. The essay should also address the candidate’s views on diversity and how he/she will contribute to advancing diversity in the legal profession. The application deadline is March 1, 2012.
