Biography
Professor Wyrsch has taught at Howard University Law School for the past ten years. Since 1983 he has also taught at the Columbus School of Law, The Catholic University of America, in both a full-time (11 years) and adjunct capacity, specializing in all forms of business organizations and legal accounting and finance. Professor Wyrsch is also a long-time Professorial Lecturer at the George Washington University Law School. He is also teaches in the American Law Program at Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland.
Professor graduated from the University of Houston Law School in 1972. He also received two graduate degrees from George Washington: a Masters in Law (L.L.M., Corporation Law, 1977), and a M.B.A.(1982).
Professor Wyrsch served as an officer in the U.S. Army, 3rd Infantry Division (1967-1969). After law school Prof. Wyrsch worked at the Office of General Counsel, the Government Accountability Office (GAO), as a Senior Attorney (1972-2001). He had specialized in national security, intelligence, international affairs, and government corporations, budgeting, accounting and financial matters.
Prof. Wyrsch specializes in corporate law, unincorporated business organizations (general partnerships, limited partnerships, limited liability companies, and limited liability partnerships), and legal accounting and finance. Prof. Wyrsch enjoys discussing both the “practice-side” and the “business-side” of the legal cases and issues that are covered in class, considerations that he believes are essential for any lawyer to succeed in the business world. Professor Wyrsch was named the “Professor of the Year” at Catholic in academic years 2001-2002, 2002-2003 and 2006-2007. The law students at Catholic voted Prof. Wyrsch as “Most Supportive Professor” in the following academic years: 2003-2004, 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006-2007, 2008-2009, 2009-2010, 2010-2011 and 2011-2112. The graduating students voted Prof. Wyrsch as their Faculty Graduation Marshal in the following years: 2002, 2003, 2007 and most recently 2012.
Prof. Wyrsch and his wife Claire live in Silver Spring and have two children, Kara, a University of Maryland law graduate, and Michael, a career officer in the U.S. Marine Corps as a fighter jet pilot.
