Howard Law Student Wins

Prestigious Fulbright Award

Ms. Jessica Cooper, class of 2011, has just been awarded a Fulbright Award to India by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

The Fulbright awards are highly competitive award/scholarships for recipients who are academically strong, capable leaders, and have a record of service. “As a representative of this country in India, she will help to fulfill the principal purpose of the Fulbright Program which is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. “ and the people in the country where she will spend her Fulbright year.

The Fulbright grant will allow her to teach English in India for about a year. Ms. Cooper is very interested in studying educational systems which is one of the primary reasons that she sought the Fulbright award. When Ms. Cooper completes her Fulbright year in India, she will join “Teach For America,” in Houston, Texas.

The Law School congratulates Ms. Cooper for this outstanding accomplishment.
