Biography
Before joining Howard University, Professor Quereshi served as Skadden Fellowship Attorney and Director of the Immigrant’s Rights Project at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Maryland. While there, he managed a variety of cases relating to local anti-immigrant initiatives, the First Amendment and the scope of immunity for unconstitutional government action. Additionally, he frequently testified before the Maryland Senate and House of Delegates.

After graduating from law school, Professor Quereshi served as a law clerk for the Honorable Damon J. Keith of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Honorable James G. Carr of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. He received his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, magna cum laude, and his bachelor’s degree from Marquette University, cum laude.

Professor Quereshi’s writings have appeared in the Wisconsin Journal of Law, Gender and Society, the Journal of Islamic Law and Culture and the Human Rights Brief.
