10:00 a.m. Pick-up graduation clearance forms from the Office of Student Affairs Pick-up tickets to main campus ceremony and purchase cap & gown - location/time TBA


Friday, May 11, 2012
10:00 a.m. Mandatory Class Meeting with Dean Schmoke - Moot Court Room Line up for Baccalaureate procession - Academic Robe only
11:00 a.m. Baccalaureate - Dunbarton Chapel—Academic Robe only

Saturday, May 12, 2012
7:30 a.m. Assemble at Greene Stadium no later than 7:30 a.m. - attendance will be taken
9:00 a.m. Procession for Main Campus Ceremony
12:45 p.m. Arrive at Burr Gymnasium and prepare for Hooding Presentation
1:00 p.m. Class picture
1:30 p.m. Burr gymnasium doors open for guests
2:30 p.m. Processional Overflow guests admitted after processional
4:30 p.m. Ceremony ends


Tickets:
No guest will be permitted into the Burr Gymnasium main area without a ticket. Overflow guests without tickets will be admitted after the processional and must sit in the lower gym and watch the ceremony on the big screen.

Children:
Children must have tickets for admission into the Burr Gymnasium, if seats are needed, ushers will request to see tickets for all members of the party. Guests without tickets will have to leave.

Infants:
Infant seats will not be permitted in the Burr Gymnasium. Infants and toddlers small enough to sit in an adult’s lap will be granted entry without a ticket. Every infant and toddler must remain in an adult’s lap or the adult and child will have to leave.

Directions:
Main Campus is on the Shaw-Howard Univ. Metro Station - Green Line. Exit the Shaw-Howard U. Metro station from the 7th Street/Georgia Avenue entrance, turn right/north and proceed approximately six blocks until you have reached the main campus of Howard University.


The Burr Gymnasium is located on the main campus at 6th and Girard Streets.


Arrival: Graduates must assemble at Greene Stadium not later than 7:30 a.m. on May 12th. Your guests should plan to arrive early. They must be seated by 8:45 a.m.

Parking:
There is no parking garage on main campus or at the Burr Gymnasium. Street parking or nearby parking lots may be available.

Participation in the main campus ceremony is mandatory for those students who wish to participate in the School of Law ceremony. Attendance will be taken.

  • Not mandatory



Graduation Date - Saturday, May 12, 2012


School of Law Hooding Ceremony

  • Each graduate will receive 16 tickets
  • 2:30 p.m. Burr Gymnasium - Main Campus
  • Graduates must report by 1:00 p.m.
  • Group class picture at 1:15 p.m.
  • Doors open for guests at 1:45 p.m. - tickets required



Participation in the Main Campus Ceremony is Mandatory

  • Roll will be taken
  • Those students who do not participate in the main campus ceremony will not be permitted to participate in the law school ceremony
  • Details regarding the main campus ceremony will be provided at a later date



Graduation Clearance Day - Wednesday, May 9, 2012

  • Pick-up graduation clearance forms from the Office of Student Affairs 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Pick-up graduation tickets from the Office of Students Affairs (Must be cleared)
  • Pick-up caps and gowns from the Bookstore
