School of Law Computer Purchase Policy
Effective for Fall 2002 Howard University included a one-time, laptop cost of $2000 in the “Cost of Attendance Budget” for first-year students enrolling in the School of Law. Funding for purchase of the computer equipment is provided through increased loan eligibility. In providing access to funding for computer equipment, Howard University School of Law is in no way responsible for the maintenance, upgrade or loss of equipment. Students are encouraged to come to law school with a computer that meets minimum specifications as determined by the law school.
Recommended Specifications:
Howard University School of Law does not recommend a particular company or vendor; however, your computer should, at a minimum should be an IBM compatible personal computer (notebook or a laptop) and conform to the attached specifications.
Added value items should include a three-year extended warranty; three years of insurance coverage; backpack or case; security device; Norton Antivirus; and Microsoft Office XP Professional.
