Under the supervision of Professor Aderson Bellegarde Francois, the Howard University School of Law Civil Rights Clinic works as a laboratory in which law students and faculty collaborate on matters that touch on the important civil and human rights issues of the day.
Whether it is race-based funding disparities among Maryland’s public colleges and universities or the continuing viability of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, Professor Francois and the Civil Rights Clinic have continued Howard University School of Law’s legacy of real world engagement designed to enforce the Constitution’s promises of full personhood and citizenship for all.
During the 2012-13 academic year, Professor Francois and the Civil Rights Clinic filed five amicus briefs in cases before the United States Supreme Court.
