Biography

Trish DeMaio joined the law faculty in 2005. Her research and teaching interests include the areas of Criminal Law, Evidence, Juvenile Law, and Family Violence & Sexual Assault.

Before joining the Howard University family, Trish DeMaio served as a prosecutor in the Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. While serving as an Assistant District Attoney, Trish DeMaio conducted several jury trials for major felonies including: Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Rape, Robbery, Burglary and Child Abuse. Trish DeMaio graduated with honors from Morgan State University in 1996 and in 1999 from Temple University School of Law where she was a staff member of the Political and Civil Rights Law Review. Following graduation Trish DeMaio clerked for the Honorable Renee Cardwell Hughes of the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania. Patricia DeMaio is admitted to the Bar of the State of Pennsylvania.
