The Huver I. Brown Trial Advocacy Moot Court Team wins Thurgood Marshall BLSA Mid Atlantic Regional Championship

The Huver I. Brown Trial Advocacy Moot Court Team wins the 2006 BLSA Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competion Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship.

“I am so proud of this team that words escape me at the moment,” said Captain Paul Moore. “They have worked so hard and continued to exemplify excellence and exemplary advocacy skills. The team consists of all new members and they won every single round they competed in and finished UNDEFEATED! I think the record speaks for itself.”

To further emphasize the magnitude of their achievement, the team was the number one seed throughout the competition after the preliminary rounds were completed. They received outstanding praise from lawyers judging the rounds, including many distinguished law school alumni.

“This is another positive affirmation of the great things being accomplished by the students and faculty of the Howard University School of Law,” said Dean Kurt L. Schmoke.

The BLSA Mid-Atlantic Regional Champion team members are Natalie Lawson, Alexis Sykes, Jonathan Campbell, Renee Russell, and Captain Paul Moore.

The team now prepares for the national competiton later this year.
