Congresswoman Linda Sánchez

Congresswoman Linda Sánchez will deliver the annual Charles Hamilton Houston Lecture, on Tuesday, March 28, 2:00 p.m., Moot Court Room.

Congresswoman Linda Sanchez will discuss Westminster School District v. Mendez, when the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that it was unconstitutional for the Westminster School District in California to segregate Mexican American students from white students. Thurgood Marshall ‘33 and Robert Carter ‘40, law school alumni who were representing the NAACP at the time, filed friend of the court briefs in this significant pre-Brown v. Board of Education case.
