Perry W. Payne, Jr., MD, JD, MPP - Perry is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Health Policy at the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services (GW) and an adjunct at Howard Law. He is a graduate of Duke Medical School, Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy, and George Washington University Law School. His research focuses on the public policy implications of genetic research and policy solutions to health disparities. He co-teaches a course in pharmaceutical policy at GW and teaches Health Law at Howard. Prior to coming to George Washington University, Perry worked at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the National Human Genome Center, Howard University. He recently received an NIH trainee grant to focus on the science and policy implications of using genetic markers to stratify populations of children who have asthma.
